About 3.1 billion people rely on fish for one-fifth average per capita protein from animal sources. An estimated 821 million people are undernourished in developing countries with further malnutrition on the rampart rise due to a lack of guaranteed access to nutritious foods  in particular fish. Wild catch fisheries are constantly depleting failing to meet demand and importantly hygienic standards for human consumption. World Health Organization requires per capita consumption of 20kgs per annum and the number is below 9kgs per capita per annum individually in Southern Africa with Zimbabwe as low as 1.5kgs  per capita per annum.
